December 2018 -Alexandra Homes recognised as an Investor in People

Alexandra Homes, a registered Care Home for People with Autistic Spectrum Disorders and Mental Health conditions has been awarded accreditation against the Investors in People Standard, demonstrating their commitment to realising the potential of their people. The service was set up in April 2004 and is registered with the Care Quality Commission, who monitor and regulate the services provided. Currently, the company owns two registered homes, Alexandra House in Knowle, Bristol, rated Good by CQC and Ash View House in Kingswood, South Gloucestershire, rated Outstanding by CQC.

Investors in People is the international standard for people management, defining what it takes to lead, support and manage people effectively to achieve sustainable results. Underpinning the Standard is the Investors in People framework, reflecting the latest workplace trends, essential skills and effective structures required to outperform in any industry. Working with clients across the globe, Investors in People enables organisations to benchmark against the best in the business on an international scale.

Paul Devoy, Head of Investors in People, said: “We’d like to congratulate Alexandra Homes, Investors in People accreditation is the sign of a great employer, and an organisation committed to achieving success by realising the potential of their people. should be extremely proud of their achievement.”

Commenting on the award, John Duggan, Director and Registered Manager, said: “this is our fourth cycle of reaccreditation with the Investors in People organisation and we are very proud of our achievements in gaining and retaining accreditation over the years. We are particularly pleased to be recognised as an organisation committed to the learning and development of staff and the way this positively impacts on the care and support we provide to our residents.

Sept 2014 – Open day / Garden Party at Ash View C.

Resident’s Friends & Family were all invited to celebrate the 10th year of Alexandra Homes.

Excellent Food, a Jazz band and Sunshine made it a day to remember.

Its in the process of being refurbished – schedule to open in Summer 2014.

10th June 2010 Consultant Psychologist Joins The Team

We are pleased to announce that we have contracted the services of a Consultant Psychologist to work with the staff teams across Alexandra Homes, to enhance the specialist service we offer our residents. The Consultant has specialist knowledge and significant experience of working with people with Asperger Syndrome and Learning Disabilities. In addition to providing advice, training and support to the staff, the Consultant will have a significant role in our on-going process of reviewing and developing the quality of care and support we offer our residents.

We are pleased to announce that following an unannounced ‘Key Inspection’ in April 2010 by,  the Care Quality Commission, Alexandra House retained its 3 Star Excellent rating. The Inspection Report will soon be made available on the CQC website.

BCC Quality Monitoring Report December 2009

Bristol City Council carried out a Quality Monitoring Inspection of Alexandra House on 02.12.09. The visit was very positive and the report outlines many areas of good practice. A copy of the report is available upon request.

CQC Annual Service Review – April 2009

The Commission for Social Care Inspection carried out an Annual Service Review for Alexandra House on 22.04.09. The outcome of the review was that there were no changes to their current inspection plan and the 3 Star rating remained in place. A Key inspection of the Home is due by 22.04.10
